Rain versus Backyard Drains
Well, the time has finally come. It finally rained in Southern California last night. Can you believe it?
While rain here is a rare occurrence, it does happen now and then; and when it does, it can wreak havoc on your backyard drains. These drains are made out of simple PVC piping and they are not very strong, so over time they are usually infiltrated with roots, dirt, and sand. This causes them to clog and become unable to do the one job they were designed to do.
These drains can be tricky to clear at times because of their flimsiness and various turns; and because of this, this is one of the only repairs we charge an hourly rate for. We do this because we never know how long it will take to clear the drains. Sometimes they are cleared within a couple hours, but if there are drains that had never been maintained before, it could take all day long.
So if you are experiencing flooding in your backyard, make sure you schedule a cleaning before the next rain comes, because we do get busy!
